Tanya Langford brings her personal journey of how she overcame the cycle of violence and abuse to become a safe and empowered woman, which she has combined with many fields of learning to create her successful programs that have changed hundreds of women and girls lives.
Tanya’s focus in the prevention of gender based abuse is providing her evidence based education and empowerment package to women, that includes the paths of recovery and healing for former victims, plus early intervention to our girls. ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Tanya Langford (BSSc) is a Domestic & Family Violence Consultant; Trauma Recovery & Empowerment Life Coach & provides 4 unique programs that have changed the lives of hundreds of Women and Teen Girls. Tanya is also a survivor of Domestic & Family Violence which she experienced from childhood transitioning into abusive relationships for many years of her life, and has combined her lived experience journey with a range of avenues of learning to create her evidence based approach to prevent women from entering abusive relationships, and for former victims the prevention of re-entering.
In 2009 as a single mother of two children, Tanya enrolled at University with the goal of helping other women overcome the challenges she had and graduated in 2012 with a ‘Bachelor of Social Science’, Majoring in ‘Welfare & Community Services’.
Since that time Tanya has assisted hundreds of Women plus young people, firstly in her role as a ‘Family Support Officer’, and then in a charity organization she co-founded and ran ‘Safe Woman Safe Family’, and in the past two years through her organization ‘I Am Woman Empowerment Programs’. In this time Tanya’s commitment has been honored with a range of scholarships and awards, the most recent being the ‘2022 UNAAWA Gender Equality Award’, in 2021 the ‘Australia Day Community Citizen Award’ in The Shire of Murray and in 2016 the ‘Perth Convention Bureau – City of Mandurah Aspire Award’.
Tanya also facilitates regular women’s well-being groups and retreats, providing opportunities for women to connect and access self-care opportunities. She enjoys gardening, and has been the Vice Chair-person of her local Community-Garden for the past two years.
Tanya lives in Pinjarra, West Australia and looks forward to publishing her first book as part of her ongoing mission of keeping girls and women safe from abuse and living their lives as ‘Safe and Empowered Women’.
